Nodding Diabel pulled his hood back over his head and stalked off in the direction of the building scaling the wall he peaked over and seen a small half man doing something with flowers with small serpants slithering around him, vaulting up in one fluid motion and barely touching the top of the wall he gracefully went to an over hanging roof just above him landing almost silently he felt some of the roof top move slightly under foot but was almost sure he was not heard. Looking back to where his companions where he pointed down and raised a single fingure showing that there was one person that he had identified

Map: cdn.obsidianportal.com/assets/196467/Warden_Walthus_Shack.jpgDiabel, you are currently on the ledge that sits over area G5, next to G6
Diabel doesn't see much of interest near by. The dark clouds in the sky look like they might be breaking up, and off shore, you can see some sort of big ship on the horizon sailing south.
The halfling returns to tending to his plant pots.
Kemuel and Kale are currently off the map, but can quite clearly see that the path leads up to the door at G1.

Kemuel watched with some fascination at the athleticism of Diabel. The way he had leapt up was a thing of beauty. The Half-Elf had signaled that there was one person visible. Diabel didn't have weapons drawn or seem to be in any way flustered or threatened, so Kemuel could only assume that hostilities were unlikely here.
Turning to Kale, who still scanned the area crouched down low, he said, "Do you get the feeling that this isn't the Goblin encampment after all, sir?" And then, motioning towards the shack, "I could go up and knock, introduce myself and ask about where I would find the camp? We would still have tactical superiority with Diabel up high and with you lying in wait should anything happen - what do you think?"

Kale was interrupted by Kemuel as he was watching his surroundings." Kemuel wanted to knock on door ?" Kale thought. Kales mind was stuck with too many ideas. One on the roof not really making clear what he see's, Kemuel wanting to make his self seen and offer friendship. Kale was not use to messing around. He liked quick actions and quick answers. Looking at the Paladin the Barbarian spoke.
" What you on about, you sure, well what if its a trap ?"
Kale was getting annoyed."Ok up to you. But don't say I did not warn you."

"If it's a trap my friend, I'll expect there will be bedtime tales told to young Goblins everywhere about the mythical Goblin slaying human Barbarian named Kale", said the Knight with a wink. He arose and threw his cloak around himself once again.
Carefully, but confidently, Kemuel walked out of the swamp's trees and towards the shack. His weapon sheathed, the Knight approached the door, trying not to make eye-contact with Diabel or to give away his position in any small way. The shack was fairly unremarkable. Moss covered portions of it as nature continued it's eternal battle for conquest.
Nobody seemed forthcoming as Kemuel made his way up to the door of the shack. A medium sized, wooden door with the occasional cracks between the planks. The gaps didn't reveal much about what was inside. And so, Kemuel firmly knocked on the door, took a step back and called out, "Hello, is anyone there? I would seek your counsel, please"

Diabel watched as Kemuel walked out from the woods and walked to the door, he could see the strategy in the plan but if there were more than one they would need more than the element of suprise from just himself

The halfling heard the knocking on his door and after a moment turned and entered into his shack.
The scraggly brown haired halfling opened the front door and blinked in surprise. It was not totally unheard of for people to visit him, but it was always normally fishermen whom he was friends with. However, it was never really men in armour and weapons.
"I...er... I... can I help you, sir?" asked the somewhat surprised Halfling.

Sensing the Halfling's unease, Kemuel moved to calm him. "I mean you no harm, friend. I am in your swamp hunting Goblins and merely wanted your opinion on where it would be best to find them? Have you had much trouble here?" The Taldan Knight spoke with palms open so as to subtly influence the Halfling.

It took a few moments for the Halfling to come to his senses. All of that armour... and the big brute beside him. Were they here to kill him? Why?
He took a step back and took a second to shake away the growing fears.
"I err... well. No, I err..." he took a deep breath. "I am sorry, you are just so imposing!" he grinned a little. "You are Adventurers? Where are my manners? Would you care for some tea?"

Kemuel was taken aback by the hospitality of the Halfling. His words came out initially in little nervous bursts. He was frightened. The Knight smoothed his hair to one side, so as to open his face up to the Halfling.
"I am truly grateful for your kind offer and had we not been a little pressed for time I would gladly have accepted. Please, think me not rude, and we wouldn't wish to impose on you in anyway" Said the Knight with a slight smile. "My name is Kemuel, once of Taldor and former Knight of the Ton. As I mentioned, we are out here looking to track the Goblins who have been raiding nearby towns. We would be grateful for any advice you might have?"

The halfling calmed down somewhat and thought for a moment. "Well... there is a Goblin village not far from here... I would say just over half a mile away, but you may have to double back to use the trails. "You could forge your way through the swamp, but I wouldn't recommend it. I have some maps of the area that I have taken the time to draw out, you can have one if you want?"

Raising an eyebrow in quiet, happy surprise, Kemuel couldn't help but step forward and crouch down with the Halfling, so as to speak eye-to-eye with him.
"I would be very grateful for a map of yours, that would aid us greatly."
The Knight reached out his hand to offer a handshake, "Please, allow me to know your name, sir"
The map would enable the party of adventurers to shave time from their search and also, crucially maybe, to plan a proper assault with decent tactics. Kemuel wetted his lips at the thought and took a moment to make eye contact with Kale. Both the Barbarian and Diabel would be pleased with this boon, thought the Knight.

The halfling shook the Knights hand. "I am Walthus Proudstump." he replied as he turned and vanished into one of the other rooms. After a few moments, he returned with a roll of parchment. He unrolled it and proceeded to show the Knight. "This is one of the newer ones I have drawn up, but I haven't fully explored everywhere here yet, so there will still be things you may come across that are unmarked on the map.""I...er... do have to admit, I am a little shocked that you are here for the Goblins though. The Licktoad tribe do not tend to cause too much trouble, bar the odd caravan attack on the Old Coast road, or the old stolen cow, they don't seem to be that bad." "They've harassed normal folk before, but its rare they kill anyone."---- Map of Brinestump Swamp: 1.bp.blogspot.com/-r0i6XXX4Gcg/UdMljMiNyTI/AAAAAAAABcM/wJpBAtl2VWM/s640/Brinestump+Swamp.tiffWalthus Proudstump: cdn.obsidianportal.com/images/1158821/Walthus.png---- Kemuel, Walthus explains to you where you are and where the Goblin Village is. G on the map, is where you currently are. H on the map is where the Goblin Village is. He explains that there is a river that flows inbetween the two places, and that that is somewhat fast flowing, but there are one or two places that you might be able to cross at some risk.

"Walthus Proudstump. A good name", said Kemuel as he mulled it over. "It suits you". The Knight pored over the sketched map with it's little markings and signage. He traced his finger with visible consternation along the established walkways to the Goblin Village. The party would have to go back along the route they had come, carry on the Lost Coast Road all the way around the Bay and then traverse the swamp for the same distance. That would be some march. The other option, as Walthus had mentioned was to try and cut across the river that cut through the Swamp. He would need to bring this up with Diabel and Kale. Something about Walthus' surprise at the notion of hunting these Goblins put Kemuel at unease. Were they just in this action? The Knight decided to keep it to himself but intended to think things through. "You have been a great help to me Walthus, I am truly grateful to you for your kindness. Well met, friend."The Knight shook the Halfling's hand once more and made his way back to the spot where Kale stood, shaded and hidden by the swamp. The big human Barbarian rose to his feet from his crouched, ready-for-action stance. "Kale, come and have a look at this map, tell me what you think please. Diabel will want to see this too."

Walking over to the Knight of the ton and the Halfling Kale thought to himself.
"The knight does have a way with his words."
Kemuel seemed he could work his charm with anyone with his gentle voice. Reaching both men Kale noticed the Halfling staring at him.
" Don't fear me little one, I bring you no harm." Offering his hand, Kale spoke again.
"I am Kale."
Looking at the map Kale studied for a short moment. Kemuel looked as if he knew how to read the map well. Probably studied and read many maps in his campaign days.
"Well what do you suggest Kemuel. Is there any point in turning back. Or we risking crossing the river. I'm easy, as long as don't get ourselves killed." Kale smirked.
"Diabel should see this."
Looking up towards the roof Kale whistled then shouted.
"Diabel."

Kemuel again quietly marveled at the way Diabel moved down. It was just effortless for him. His agility seemingly wasn't something he had spent years trying to master - it was just an inherent part of him.
"Walthus Proudstump, please meet our friend and associate Diabel Kirito. All is indeed well Diabel, we are just in something of a predicament. Have a look at this map. It seems the choices are that we can try to persevere onwards and try to cross the river further along, or we double back and head around the swamp and take the path to the Goblin Village. Do you have a preference?" And then, turning to Kale, "I am all for trying to ford this River! If indeed we can, it would give us access to the rear of the Goblin Village where perhaps it might be less defended."
On that note, Kemuel looked at the floor before continuing, "Also, Walthus has expressed surprise that we are hunting these Goblins. He is under the impression that they are not much of a threat to anyone. It might be something to bear in mind. I am a man of action, but not a murderer. It may be that we will uncover more as we go on."

"Sounds good to me." Kale replied.
The Barbarian looked at the map again and it played in his head for a while, that it might be quiet a task in crossing the river. He hoped that it would be a successes.
He looked at the Halfling.
"Mr Proudstump. Is there anything else you could tell us about the terrain in the area. Or tell us anything at all that would help us on our way."

Walthus looked up at at the Half Elf, and then back to Kale.
"Well, the terrain is the same all around really. I would tend to stick to the trails as it can get pretty boggy and overgrown everywhere else. There is a ford of sorts, like I said, but its not overly safe to cross. The rocks are never dry."
"As for the Goblins, don't get me wrong, they are Goblins, and the Licktoad tribe go raid the odd caravan on the Lost Coast road, but they don't tend to hurt any one, at least to my knowledge. "As for me, they leave me alone, and I leave them alone."
He ponders for a moment. "There are some ship wrecks along the coast of the bay further south. I only mention those because you look like the adventurering sorts. I've not got a map that has them marked as of yet though. "Oh, and if you come across anything interesting... caves, landmarks that I may have missed, feel free to mark them down... I would very much like to hear about anything interesting that you find." says the halfling with a smile.

Smiling, Kemuel thought over the information they had just gained from Walthus, who was proving to be an excellent help. Shipwrecks though! Perhaps this mission wouldn't be quite as straightforward as merely killing Goblins. That insatiable flame of curiosity flickered inside the Knight. These sorts of opportunities came rarely. He had seen much in his days and he sometimes gave off an air of indifference or even jaded disinterest, however the sense of adventure was still strong in him.
Crouching again, he said, "Walthus, again, we are grateful for your guidance. It would be a great joy to return this map with anything else we can find marked on there for you."
The Knight then rose and turned to Kale and Diabel in turn; "That ford sounds like the perfect spot to cross the river, what do you think? And surely, those shipwrecks need our discerning eyes turned to them at some point." His eyes glinted in the sunshine that danced through the trees. "My suggestion is that we take care of the Goblins and take stock. If we are able to, we can then look to the coast and attempt to find the shipwrecks. Do you both find that acceptable?"

Kale, Diabel and Kemuel expressed their gratitude to Walthus and moved on along through the swamp in the direction of the river. Again, Diabel led as he waltzed through the treetops with grace. The Barbarian Kale and Kemuel followed on behind, cautious and ever ready to draw swords if the need arose.
