They say, a man will always find his true meaning, or as his father use to tell him. A man will always find his way, no matter how clouded the path is. For Kale, this was still to be answered.
Growing up in town of Riddle Port Kale was well looked after. His Father was not rich but made an honest living. As a fisherman his father was out early most mornings catching what he can to help out the town, but mainly to make a living to provide for his beautiful wife and his son and to maintain his proud home to keep a roof over their heads. Kale's mother also played apart in his fathers career. She would gut and fillet the fish ready to be sold in Riddle Port. So both parents found little time to keep their son Kale entertained.
Kale was a happy child, well loved, well liked by many in the town. Even his fathers close friend and neighbour Turpin took a liking to the lad. Turpin noticed that Kale, many times playing alone, running around pretending to be a knight or a great warrior. When ever asked " So Kale, when will u grow up and be a fine fisherman like your father." Yet no matter how many times the question was asked, the answer was always the same." Never as when I'm older and grow to be big and strong. I'm going to be the greatest warrior and knight in the land". This always made Turpin and Kale's parents laugh.
For Kale's 10th birthday Turpin made the young wannabe warrior a wooden sword. This was one of the greatest gifts Kale had ever received. For hours each day, Kale slashed and cut the fresh air, ripping and tearing and stabbing bushes till his little arms had enough. But while the young boy was aging and growing, something else was growing too. His temper.
At the age of 12 Kale was already looking a fine specimen. he was taller than most children his age, his frame and build was as of a young teenager. His strength too, excelled over most kids in Riddle Port. But most of all which people noticed was his quick temper. Kale did not make many friends in the town as this temper made sure of that. The kids of the town was starting to get scared of Kale, no kid would play or really even talk to the young lad. Slowly the boy became a loner, his only real friend was Turpin but Turpin was 6 times his age, but an old friend is better than none.
One day Kale's father sent him to the blacksmiths to bring back his fathers filleting knifes as they were away getting re sharpened when, on his way back 4 young lads stood not far from his old friends house and he noticed One of them pointing towards the house and laughing. Kale dropped the knifes and ran to see what was happening to find his old friend Turpin lying on the steps of his house with very little breath while holding his chest. As Kale ran to the dying man he heard a voice. "Its about time the old bugger died."
Within seconds Kale's fist crashed against the laughing boys face. One other lad punched Kale on the cheek, but Kale felt nothing. Kale made short work of 3 of the young lads but concentrated on 1. Rage tore through his heart, screams from his lungs were deafening but all he could see wad red. The final boy lay choking on his own blood from his broking nose, he could not speak from his shattered jaw. Yet Kale's thirst was not quenched. Walking over to the boy Kale chose a rock, a little bigger than his hand and watched the boy in front of him trying to crawl away while tears ran down his blooded cheek as he feared for his life. Kale loved this feeling. The feeling of watching your enemy crumble before his feet. Without hesitation Kale started to smash the boulder into the helpless boys skull, and Kale was not stopping. Smash after smash Kale still could not ease his pain. His rage was to great until his mother screamed. Coming to a stop the battered boys face was no more. Nothing but blood and flesh stained the rock he held but the flesh of Kale was also stained. His mother stood in shock and was terrified. Turpin with his last breath sighed and shook his head in disappointment before the old mans eyes closed forever.
Kale's family, that day knew he had to leave. They packed up a small few things and sent him off as an outcast. Told off his mother never to return. His father managed to agree terms with the local law to leave his boy alone, but the agreement was he had to send his son away. Kale left Riddle Port for good.
Now at 26 Kale travels town to town seeking jobs and work. From bounty hunting to acting as a bodyguard for important people as they travel. A trained killer the once young warrior wannabe has become. Finally trained in the arts with his sword. He wanders alone always thinking them old words his fathers said....."Will I ever find my true meaning."
