Sunday 13th Abadius, 4707 (Morning)Sandpoint - Rusty DragonAmeiko yawned and stretched as she reached the bottom of the stairs. She'd washed, dressed and fitted her rapier to side as was her normal morning routine, but she still felt tired. She suspected that this had a lot to do with the events of last night. When she had re-opened the Rusty Dragon as an Adventurer Inn, she had expected some rough and tumble, but, in the two months she had been open, that had been the first. She sniffed at the air. Romi was quite clearly preparing breakfast meals for all those that had chosen to stay the night. Ameiko wandered over to the doors, unbolted them and pulled them open. The air was still humid and dark clouds threatened some distance over the ocean, but for the time being, the sun was out. She turned and began to clear away tables of glasses and plates, and also pinned the Job Parchment back to the board. ---- As and when you come down stairs, you are met with the smell of sausages and bacon being cooked. There is a slight chill in the air as Ameiko keeps the door open to allow the place to air. GM note: After this thread, you will go which ever ways you chose to go. Having slept well most of the night, a strange rasping noise, almost like a dying bear woke Zhen bright and early. Slowly raising himself up to a seated position he looked for the source of the noise. It appeared to be emanating from the dwarf, whether he'd passed out or this was his normal sleep didn't matter all he needed was to get away from the droning rasp!
Putting on his now dry cloak and picking up his bag he wandered downstairs in pursuit of breakfast. Ghosting lightly down the stairs Zhen was just in time to see the innkeep clearing away some of last nights mess and posting a new notice on the jobs board.
Clearing his throat "Ahem, Miss? That bacon smells good, can I have some of that and a mug of water please? Oh and I see there's a new jobs notice, i'll have a look at that before it gets taken down again!"
Wandering over to the board Zhen gives it a quick look over. "Hmm not much more info the monsters stealing livestock hmm. But clearly a goblin problem as well, connected perhaps? Well we'll see when I go see the Sheriff, maybe get Godein on board as well. Maybe the noisy dwarf, who I bet swears he doesn't snore as well!" Chuckling to himself he choose a table at random and sat down to wait for breakfast and people to start filtering down.

Orcana woke as dawn broke out over Sandpoint. She took her time, gathering her things, checking her rations and making sure she had everything in order. Before she was ready to leave her room, she heard someone moving around outside her room, heading downstairs. Orcana waited until they had gone before heading out herself. She opened her door as quietly as she could, re-checking that she had her key in her pocket. As she turned to head downstairs a fleeting thought crossed her mind and without thinking, she tried Shadow's door to see if it was unlocked.

Shadow had been awake for some time. He sat cross-legged, meditating on the occurrences last night. He had been foolish to wander after Orcana in the first place. If he had simply stayed in his room when he went up the first time, the whole mess would have been avoided. A wave of anger fell over him. It wasn't his fault he was a drow, and he had spent the second half of his life trying to distance himself from his people. It was a lonely road, yet he couldn't understand why evil was the norm for the subterranean elves.
Releasing his clenched jaw and sighing, Shadow stood up. His bags were already packed and he threw his cloak over his shoulders. There was again little point in drawing his hood with these patrons, so he left it down as he moved to the door. Just as he opened it, he realized it was being pushed open from the other side as well and came face to face with Orcana.
"Did you need something?" was the first thing out of his mouth, shocked that she'd be right outside his door.

Orcana planted a hand on Shadow to stop her falling through the door. She chose not to respond immediately, instead, she pushed him firmly but squarely backwards a few steps and closed the door behind her. Shadow was a similar size as Orcana - not exact, but close by an inch or two - so looking directly into his dark eyes wasn't difficult. She was calm, far calmer than last night but she was still upset about what happened. "You bloody fool!" she hissed, "What were you doing last night? Did you suddenly forget who you are?"

Ameiko smiled at the Monk. "Certainly." He nipped into the kitchen only to return with a plate with a couple of crusty rolls and a small pile of bacon, as well as a cup of water. "Sleep well?" she asked Zhen as she placed the breakfast meal on the table.

Diabel woke as he always had, in a mess of man and sheets he yawned rolled onto the floor and proceeded to get ready. Once he was dressed he made the bed, washed and left his room. "today will be a good day" he thought to himself. Downstairs he walked to the bar "hi do you have anything for breakfast?, and could i get some water" he smiled

Ameiko smiled. "Good to hear." "As for Balor, you may have a hard time finding him, Sunday is the day of rest after all. I doubt he'll be in the Town Hall offices today, but he stays in the Garrison most of the time."
Ameiko nipped into the kitchen once more and brought another plate with crusty rolls, some bacon and a sausage, with a mug of water and handed it to the Half Elf. "Do not worry about payment, breakfast meals come in the room cost." she smiled.

The sun was still low in the morning sky, so Kemuel's shadow was long and stretched out past the door of the Rusty Dragon where he patiently waited for Kale and Diabel to emerge. The Knight waited, leaning with one leg anchored against the wall of the Tavern, arms folded under his cloak.
The exile both loved and hated these rare, serene moments. The chance to be still and take in life before it rushed by; but also the inevitable onslaught of his past and the memories attached to it. And so, with a blank, thousand-yard-stare, Kemuel waited for his companions.

Kale woke, by the noise of others moving past his room. In a way, the smell of bacon also was one of the reasons. Kale yawned and lifted his self and sat on the edge of the bed. He removed the cloth from his hand. The bleeding was stopped and all that remained was a scabbed wound and his hand was half covered in dry blood. Kale washed and got dressed. He sat for a few moments wondering what the day would bring. He knew the same crowd, or most of them would be downstairs. All Kale wanted was a good hearty breakfast, a look around Sandpoint, maybe even do a bit trading, wanting to see what the town had to offer.
Kale also remembered that he agreed with Diabel and Kemuel, about seeing the local sheriff on the goblin hunting job
" First things first, I need to get me some of that bacon." Kale said when leaving room 5. Locking the door behind him Kale headed down stairs.
The smell was getting stronger as he was reaching closer to the bar. The noise of the bacon sizzling in the pan, the smell of the fresh warmed rolls started to make his mouth water. He could also hear the sound of voices, yet peaceful voices Kale thought. This was a good sign.
Walking into the bar Kale was the third one to breakfast. Beat by the Half-Elf Diabel and the monk, Kale forgot his name.
"Morning miss, thank you for this." passing over his blooded rag.
" I don't this this cloth is reusable." Kale smirked.
" If possible and when your ready, I'll have one of them breakfasts please." Kale's voice was soft. He still felt a bit guilty for his behaviour and also for smashing the glass, which he noticed Ameiko had cleaned up.

Shadow expected the outburst from his companion. After all, it was hardly the first one. He had noticed her tension early on even before they entered the town, so he knew the outburst would be coming. He raised a delicate silver eyebrow at her question and crossed his arms over his chest. "You presume much, girl. The whole thing was caused by the human, the one cornering me at the bar. I came down the stairs looking for you, and the imbecile knocked into me. My cloak was discarded, most of them instantly thought of me as a threat."
He shrugged and made sure he had his things together. "Secret's out now, but I believe we are safe in the inn. I believe breakfast is being prepared as well. Are you coming?" The drow pushed his way past Orcana and opened the door, stepping out into the hallway. With a glance at her, he moved down the stairs, eyes alert.

Diabel thanked her and walked over to where he had left his hooded cloak hanging the night before and took it from its hook, dry he draped it over his arm and sat at the table he was sitting at the previous night. He noticed the glass had been tidied away and wondered what todays events would bring. He sipped at his water as he saw Kale at the bar "morning friend" he smiled

Ameiko bought out a breakfast for Kale and passed it over. "Enjoy." she smiled. "Eh, don't worry about the rag." she replied as she tossed it in the bin.
She looked up at the Drow as he came down the stairs. She smiled. "Morning sir, breakfast?"

Two humans and the other half-elf. It appeared to Shadow that the inquisitor was not yet awake, and neither the dwarf. The human knight from last night was also not in the common room. Ideally, there would be no confrontation here, especially with Ameiko keeping the peace. He walked to the bar and kept his distance from the others as he addressed Ameiko.
"Please. Two, for her," he said, jerking his head towards the stairs. He clearly meant Orcana would be coming down in a moment and as a peace keeping offer he was going to make sure the breakfast was out and ready for her when she arrived. Shadow still didn't know if the innkeeper or her chef spoke the Elven tongue, so he didn't bother trying at this point in the morning. Grey eyes flicked towards Zhen in slight annoyance, though he did remember the human had backed down last night after Shadow refused to be the first to attack.

Ameiko nipped once more into the kitchen, bringing out two plates of crusty rolls, bacon and sausage and placed them on the bar. In truth, she didn't know whether the Drow would eat any of it, but she had known Shalelu to eat the odd breakfast cooked up by Romi. In the end, it didn't really matter, but Adventuring was hard work at the end of the day.

Kale had a feeling that Ameiko was still slightly annoyed at him, with the way she delt with him very quickly. Not really much eye contact, and the fact while still at the bar collecting his plate, Ameiko had turned to greet the Drow. Feeling out of place the Barbarian turned round and headed for a seat and was greeted with "Hello friend."
Feeling a little better Kale sat next to the Half-Elf. "Morning.....Diabel how are you this morning."

"tired" the half elf responded with a smile. "i dont do well in the mornings i'm afraid, how about you? hows the hand?" he asked. Taking another sip of his water he proceeded to eat the food that had been prepared. "nice food here, although i wouldnt complain its free"

Orcana sighed. Arguing with a dark-skin, raised entirely on anger and bloodshed, who now chooses to walk a far lighter path. Well, it's like arguing with a wall at times. He hadn't risen to an argument once in the time she'd known him and quite frankly she was getting bored of being the only one getting upset!
Still facing the window, Orcana stepped up to the glass and looked out across the town towards the rising sun. She took the moment to say her piece to Tanner, taking a knee as she whispered her words to the lesser god. As she finished, she tightened her boot laces and made towards the stairs and down to the sound of breakfast below.

Kale did not answer straight away. He was trying to finish of the mouthful of bacon he was chewing on. While chewing he noticed the Drow had showed face. Trying not to think about the drow, Kale answered Diabelto.
" The hand is fine and yes, the breakfast is a treat."
"So are you still up for finding this sheriff about these goblins."
Kale wanted to look to see what the drow was doing, but not wanting to cause, or look like he was causing more trouble, Kale kept his head low.

Shadow nodded his head in thanks to Ameiko when she brought the plates out to the bar. He took them both, one in each hand. His eyes swept over the room looking for a table that was out of the way. The only table that was out of the way enough from the barbarian and half-elf was closer to Zhen. Of the group, Shadow decided that Zhen was less likely to cause more trouble after last night than the others and made his way to the table close by.
Orcana came down the steps while Shadow was headed towards the table. He met her gaze and jerked his head at the table, handing her a plate as he walked towards it.

"Sure, since you stood tall in all the trouble last night its the least I can do. Plus making some money is always a good thing." Kale nodded at Kemuel.
"I'm sure the knight wanted in too."
Kale finished his breakfast, still sitting to let it settle, Kale asked Diabel
" So where do we find this sheriff. ?

"we could ask at the bar?" Diabel nodded in the general direction "i imagine she will know more about this place than we do" draining the last of his water he sat his cup down on the table "Kemuel was it?"has asked the knight. Picking up Kale's plate he looked at the two men "shll we?"

Kale followed Diabel to the bar. before they got there, Kale bumped the half-elf and whispered." I'll let you do the talking."
Feeling refreshed after his deep sleep and his hearty breakfast Kale looked at his cut on his hand. It was healing nicely. Kale looked at his new companions for a moment. Both looked well ready. He knew from last night that both men were not combat shy. Kale was looking forward to this.

Finishing off his breakfast Zhen watched the drow talking to Miss Kaijitsu and then survey the room. With a grin he saw him glance to the barbarians table then look over to me. Huh, lesser of two evils it is then I reckon. Watching him sit down Zhen pondered his decision. Made in the late hours of the night before sleep, after much meditation. With an exhalation of breath Zhen got up, turned to face the drow and began a slow and casual stroll over to him.

Kemuel had walked into the Tavern as Kale and Diabel were enjoying a hearty looking breakfast. Kale's hand had recovered a great deal, the Knight noticed. Diabel looked unflustered and ready to go, as he had the previous night too.
"Good day to you both and yes, Diabel; my name is indeed Kemuel - it is a pleasure to meet you properly, Sir."
As they made their way over to the bar as per Diabel's suggestion, Kemuel heard Kale allow Diabel to do the talking, Kemuel decided to go along with this also.
Amieko had then guessed that the Sheriff might be at the Garrison and it seemed as likely a place as any for a Sheriff, so the Knight suggested they make their way there: "Perhaps we can make use of the Town's facilities too? Weapons, maps and the like. Do we have a consensus Gentlemen?"

"And that's when I heard someone scream Drow, so I came running." Orcana-Rae was wrapping up the tale of where she was last night, and what she had learnt from the Elf Shalelu. Shadow nodded as she explained things through. "So I think we should head out to the Tors, leave the rest of these ruffians to chase their tails. Shalelu gave the impression that we may very well find goblins out that way too, which would always help line our pockets from the Sheriff. What do you think?"
