The Hobgoblin looked at the fountain, and looked at the Drow with a quizzical eye. "What makes you think I know what that is? This is the first time I have even been here. It looks like a water fountain to me, how could you not know that?" smirks the Hobgoblin.

Orcana ties the last of the ears to the line holding the others as Shadow gets a little rough and ready with his victim. She takes the small pouch from the dead Hobgoblin and snatches the other from the one Shadow was now directing at the fountain. She gets Zhen's attention and tosses the two pouches at him as he's the one holding onto all the coin for this trip.
She picks up a discarded long sword, eyes it over and considers it a replacement for her sword cane so slips it into her stash. "Anyone want any of this stuff?" She says to the group.

Frowning at the elfs suggestion, Durgean turned to her and growled, "Take their stuff? Weak, crappy make. Not even worth the metal they're made from. You'd be lucky if it doesn't break mid fight." Patting his hammer, her continues, "I'll stick with good solid, dwarven steel lass."
Turning to Zhen, Durgean walked over to the Monk and examined the wound. "You'll live. I can see the elf patched it, which will do for the moment. I will clean it for you once this filth has been dealt with."
Durgean watched the exchange with the Drow and hobgoblin carefully. Pulling his hammer from his belt, the dwarf stepped forward. Goblins lie he knew that, but they also had a healthy fear of the dwarfs.

Frustrated with the hobgoblin's glib nature, Shadow cursed in Undercommon and gave it a sharp kick to the stomach. The force of the kick would have knocked its breath away. He noticed that the dwarf, Durgean, was making his way over and had a vicious twinkle in his eye. Shadow noticed the same twinkle on the hammer in the dwarf's hand. With a shrug, he gestured from Durgean to the greyskin.
"Yours," he said and took a step back.

Nodding to the Drow Durgean turned his attention back to the goblinoid creature. Raising his hammer, Durgean brought it down on the creatures knee. The dwarven made hammer connected with flesh, and in an ear piercing squeal echoed through the cavern as the hobgoblin thrashes in agony. Its leg is bent and broken in an unnatural manner at the knee.
Grabbing the wailing creature by the throat the dwarf stifled its scream. "Talk. How many more are there? What is this fountain? And I'll it end quickly." Growled Durgean, repeating the elf's questions.

The Hobgoblin growled in pain. "Wha..what? It is just a water fountain!" Why were they asking about some crappy fountain? "And I told you, there are ten!"
His hopeless eyes looked over at female and his face grimaced. Ah, he thought, that blasted town had set a new Goblin ear bounty, and yet they were supposed to be the monsters...
He looked at the Dwarf and smirked. "Don't forget to take my ears now... treat a monster like a monster, yes?"
He would not tell them anymore. They did not deserve it. "Will you at least let me die standing with a sword in hand?"

Well Durgean seemed to have no side effects that he'd noticed, so zhen dug out a silver from his own personal money bag "Got to pay the toll" he chuckled to himself. Flipping the silver into the fountain he then began to scoop a little bit of water out at a time. trying to clean the cut as much as possible, wincing as the cold water washed off the blood. When done he turned to watch the group, leaning against the fountain.
Shadow was trying tk loom menacingly over the goblin, conversing with the creature in common. Not getting a satisfactory reply from the looks of things. Orcana was rummaging through the bodies, looking for loot and slicing ears and then she caught him a little off guard with her concern. "I think I'll be ok, it was just a shallow graze and I think ive cleaned it all out with the water now. But thank you for the offer, I'll take you up on it next time I pick up a few more scratches!" Zhen was pleased to know that she was coming to accept him a little, nothing like a fight to build some bonds! Shadow being a drow concerned him less and less the more time they spent together. He was reluctant to collect the ears or engage in too "vigorous" questioning of the hobgoblin, teamed with his fighting style he must be some kind of monk. Sure you can get ex-monks, fallen from the path of order and right, but he didn't fit that profile. Whilst thinkin, only his quick reflexes kept him from being hit with the bags that Orcana tossed his way, "Thanks, lets see shat riches we've obtained then shall we?" He began rummaging through the pouches, adding coins to the groups loot pouch.

Orcana winced as the Hobgoblin's knee shattered under the impact of the hammer. Killing in defense of yourself and others was one thing. Torture was another. Shadow knew this, that's why his hits hadn't been hard enough to harm, but this dwarf had not just crossed a line, he's sprinted past it laughing.
Orcana knew there was a reason the Hobgoblins were holed up down here - they were not as dumb as the smaller goblins, they could reason. That fountain must have something to do with it, so Orcana drew out a gold coin from her purse, recovered her canteen from her pack and filled up from the fountain, paying her due as she did.
"Dwarf, do as it asked and stand him up." she said in the sternest voice she could muster. "Trust me."

Turning to the elf, Durgean glared at her. Shrugging he grabbed the hobgoblin roughly by his shirt and yanked the wounded greenskin to his feet. Pushing it against the wall, to support its broken leg Durgean stepped back and looked back at the elf.

Orcana winked her thanks at Durgean as he stepped back from the Hobgoblin. Drawing the Longsword she had picked up moments before, she thrust it flat into the chest of the creature, it's pommel right beside her arrow that still jutted from it's flesh and armor, the blade harmlessly running the length of it's body. She held aloft the canteen she had just filled from the fountain with her other hand in between their eyes. "Die by your own sword, or drink from the fountain and we'll leave you here alive. You chose."

Shadow took a step back and crossed his arms, content to let Durgean and Orcana worry about the hobgoblin. Keeping an eye on the door they had entered from, he couldn't help but wonder if the goblin that got away was going to bring back reinforcements. If there were only ten left, then he felt it most likely that the rest of the group would be found deeper in the halls. Still, it never hurt to be prepared and to stay on your guard.
Shadow moved to the door they had come from and tried to listen for any signs of commotion.

The Hobgoblin had been ready to receive an dishonourable death, but now he had the choice between Honour and Life? He looked at the Half Elf with somewhat of a confused face. He shrugged. "I don't wish for death. I shall drink."
The Hobgoblin drank his fill. He did not understand why they would allow him to drink for his life. Did they think something was wrong with the water?
"Thank you." he said.
And after a moment the Hobgoblins confused look returned as a cool feeling washed over him. He could feel his injuries heal. The arrow, slowly pushed its way out of his flesh before clattering to the ground. Load pops and snaps could be heard as his knee knitted itself back together. He felt powerful too, as if he could take on any foe without problem.
He gave the Half Elf a toothy smile. "I did not expect this!"
---- Just as you are about to check the contents of the two pouches, Zhen, a cool feeling washes over you too, and your injury is fully healed.
However, after having washed your wound out, the Golden Light that comes from the water of the fountain begins to dissipate as your blood sinks into the water, and the room is plunged into darkness.
You are unable to check the contents of the two pouches at this current time.

Shadow was caught off guard for only a moment as the room was plunged into darkness. Whirling around to where the hobgoblin had been previously tied up, he felt a brief surge of magic well up within him. Throwing his hand in the direction of where he had left the greyskin, he muttered a quick curse in Undercommon and consciously unleashed the magic from his body. Four orbs of light rush out of him. The first fixes itself where Durgean, Orcana and the greyskin were located, and then each orb lines up around ten feet away from the next, forming a forty foot straight line across the room.

Amazement at the feeling of health and vitality suddenly turns to concern as the room is plunged into darkness. Stuffing the two pouches into his robes Zhen grasps his weapons and is relieved to find orbs of light suddenly appearing. Not knowing who to thank he backs away from the fountain, away from the hobgoblin who was suddenly revived.

Orcana expected something to happen, and was relieved to see the Hobgoblin's wounds begin to heal - that meant the water was safe for her companions too. When the lights went out, her heart rate picked up but she was still up against the Hobgoblin, and quickly turned the sword so the sharp end was where the pommel had been against its chest.
"Don't try anything stupid" She shouted as the lights began to move throughout the party, giving just enough illumination to be useful. "You don't want to die now you've got your leg back. Stay still and you'll live!"

The Hobgoblin shrugged. "You will get no argument from me." he replied in his gruff common. So it wasn't just a common water fountain after all. He frowned at this. "Urg, Magics." he spat.

Annoyed, Shadow walked quickly over to Orcana and hissed, "What do you think you are doing? We are wasting our time here. It," he gestured to the hobgoblin, "is of no use to us."

"He had a use, he proved the fountain was safe. He'll also lead us to his pack, or what ever a group of these things is called!" "Right you." Orcana returned her attention to the Hobgoblin. "Your free to go. Try anything stupid and we kill you. Got it? Now run!" She withdrew the Hobgoblin's sword from it's chest and give it room to leave, but kept her guard up all the same.

The Hobgoblin gave a toothy grin as he ran off past the fountain, keeping a distance from any of the party, and he ran out toward the exit of the dungeon and into the darkness of the corridor the group that come in from. Once at the corner he looked around to see if any of them had decided to have a change of heart and with that, he headed for the exit.

Orcana expected the Hobgoblin to make sure he wasn't followed to held true for a second. When she saw it's eyes dart across the party, she knew it was running for it's life out of the caves. "Well," she uttered to the group. "I kinda' expected it to run the other way. Must think what ever else is down here won't save it."

"Anyone got a torch or lantern?" Zhen began looking around the room for any torches or anything he could make into a torch.
Perception Roll 17+4 = 21
Looking around Zhen walked over to the remaining goblin sword and proceeded to tear off the goblin rags then wound them around the weapon, fashioning a crude torch. Using the light steel shield and a loose stone he proceeds to create a spark and light his makeshift torch.
"Well, shall we get going then? If they came from that way I would imagine that's where the rest are. Durgean first with his better vision then the elves and me at the back as I have the poorest vision and this torch will hinder any of you behind me."

Durgean glared at the elf. Muttering to himself about about weakness of elves. he heard his name from the Monk. "Aye lad, I'll go first." Making sure his shield was tightly strapped to his arm, he headed over to the corridor Zhen was looking down. Turning he looked at the others, "Ready?"

Shadow nodded at Durgean, happy to let the dwarf go first. In another life, his vision would be ample to lead the party, but his years on the surface had greatly changed his darkvision. He made sure his cesti were on tight. If the hobgoblin were to be believed, there were at least ten enemies beyond the room.

Orcana felt all eyes on her as the party began heading out of the fountain room. She knew the others didn't like what she'd just done, but she knew it was for the best - at least for now. She fell into step along side Shadow in front of Zhen who's makeshift torch did a great job of messing with her low-light vision. "You understand, don't you?" she said softly to Shadow, hoping their time together was enough to explain her motives.

Noting that the party seemed ready, Durgean turned away from Zhen for a few moments. He allowed for his eyes to adjust to the darkness once more before setting off. Feeling quite at home in the carved corridor and cavern, Durgean led the party deeper into the earth.

Fine with Zhen taking the rear with the torch, Shadow moved by Orcana's side behind the dwarf. A shield in front and an apt fighter behind, they would be a difficult target should they be taken by surprise. The drow remained alert and while he heard his companion's question, he shook his head at her as if to say "not now." The hobgoblin may have been exaggerating the number of his party, or he may have been giving them a lower number so that the group may catch them unaware.
Shadow would not be caught by surprise.

The group head into the corridor, and you soon find that even those of you who can see well in the darkness, cannot see the end of it. You do however soon come across to doorways. One to the left, and one to the right.
Those with darkvision can just about make out two similar doorways up ahead, but from the point of the first set of opposite doorways, you still cannot see the end of this dark passage.
The doorway on the left is blocked with an ages iron gate that is locked. (A3)The doorway on the right is not blocked. The remains of an old iron frame and iron bars can be seen on the floor of the doorway. (A4)---- Map: s2.photobucket.com/user/Toastee/media/LebsTorsCave1map_zps6cbb5d32.jpg.html

Straining to see, Shadow tensed when the doorways appeared almost out of nowhere. Keeping alert, he used his keen Elven hearing to listen for any trouble behind the doors.

Zhen, you walk into the room and in front of you is a ten foot stone tomb. The stone is carved but any detail has long since be eroded or defaced. The cover to the tomb is on the floor to the left and cracked in several places. Inside the tomb is a skeleton in poor condition in dusty worn away robes damaged by age.
