The stone door slammed down in front of Orcana the moment Zhen's hand fell upon the red gemstone. She didn't have the time to react beyond jumping out of her skin in startled disbelief. "I bloody knew it would do that." she cursed in her mind. Her heart raced a moment as a thousand thoughts played through in her mind. Where they all being incinerated in there? She couldn't hear any screams. Are they alive? How would she know? She couldn't get into that room through the stone door, it wasn't even worth trying from the size of the stone. As her heart began to slow she thought more clearly. "That door once closed before and opened again for us to enter - there were scratch marks proving that. I could wait for it to open? Or just head back to town with the ears."
She turned her back to the stone and sank to her knees. Silently, she prayed her Drow companion was alive and well, as she pondered out her choices further.

Shadow couldn't agree more with the dwarf, though he would never admit such out loud. He peered at the doorway that had just opened, wondering what lay before them now and if this cavern was even connected to the missing livestock they had come to investigate in the first place. He took one step forward then turned to Orcana, speaking to warn her to stay on her guard.
"Remember, you need t-- Orcana?"
He blinked. She wasn't there. His grey eyes swept across the whole room, searching for her, and he realized she was nowhere to be found. "Uh..." Turning to face the door they have just come from, that had quite abruptly shut behind them, Shadow blinked again. "Dwarf... human..." he spoke towards the other two in the room, trying to get their attention.

Hearing a childlike utterance Zhen turned to look at Shadow, "What is it, do you hear something?" Only after he'd finished did he notice why Shadow had spoke. Orcana was nowhere to be seen, muttering under his breath "Why didn't she come in the damn room?"
With a sigh he looked at the other two "Sorry guys I'll have to ask you to kneel again. I'm going to put the jewel back and see if that will open the door. " walking over to the plinth he fished the jewel out of his pouch, he looked up to make sure the other two were safely kneeling "Ready guys, here goes!" And with that he crouched down and placed the jewel back in its original place, hoping the door would open to let the silly half elf in.
PLAYER NOTE - My bad, forgot that! Just wanted to make it stand out a bit! Also stop making things worse because somebody was too scared to enter the room!

As you place the ruby back into its intended slot, the new door way slams shut, and soon after, slowly but surely, the main door to this room rises.
After a moment, faint wisps of steam ooze out of the mouths of the stone dragons, but they don't let seem to light.

Seeing the previously hidden door slam shut Zhen turned waiting and hoping the entrance door would open. As the door begins to rise he notices that the dragon statues are letting out smoke again, he couldn't place it but something wasn't quite the same with them. Mumbling away to himself whilst waiting "Okay, well things are kind of going to plan. For a change!" as the door slowly lifted enough that the half elf could scramble through he raised his voice, hoping that Orcana would be able to hear over the rumbling of the stone door "ORCANA, you still there? If you can hear me, when the door is open enough get in here and just for safety kneel in front of a dragon statue ok?"

Something over Orcana's head clicked, the sound of mechanical workings reverberated in the non-space above the corridor's ceiling. Orcana looked up instinctively but saw nothing. At first it was just a nudge, then with the might of the gods, the door began to lift.
Orcana-Rae was fully standing and a good three feet from the door as it inched it's way up. She was relieved to hear Zhen's voice shouting for her from the other room.
"I'm here!" She shouted in reply. When the door was a little over knee-high from the ground, she ducked and rolled straight in.
"Thanks for not leaving me behind."

Once Zhen lifts the ruby up once more, the same process happens, closing the main door with a loud slam, and re opening the new door to the bottom right hand corner.
Once again the room is filled with a cold breeze, and the sound of running water can be heard.

With a grin he looked over to the newcomer "Glad you could finally join us Orcana. Durgean are you ok to take the lead, all that kneeling hasn't left you too stiff? Haha I'll have to go last again with my inferior eyes! "
Looking round at what was the strangest mix of party members he'd ever been involved with, Zhen felt strangely confident with them despite their differences "Well shall we get going then? "

"Of course it hasn't manling. I am a dwarf, not one of your race. We are use to hardship." Durgean muttered as he lead the way, his eyes glancing around the area as his eyes adjusted to the darkness once more, showing shades of grey.

Orcana fell into line behind the Dwarf, determined not to be left behind again. She couldn't put her finger on why, but being back in the middle of the group calmed her down somewhat.

Shadow moved close behind Orcana, too perplexed with her to speak. On the one hand, she was an exceptionally brave companion and rarely did she back down from a fight. On the other, she had a tendency to find herself in situations just like the one they, thankfully, fixed. Separated from the group in as hostile an environment as this, the drow was uncertain she'd make it out alive. She was a survivalist, but he didn't seem to recall her claiming to have survived in a maze of caverns with goblins on the hunt for her.
He peered into the corridor before them, over Orcana's shoulder and over the dwarf's head, straining to see or hear what may lie ahead. Running water, of course, but what else could these doors be hiding?

Following Durgean through the doorway into the dark corridor beyond, the sound of running water grew louder. Orcana's eyes failed to show her the path forward - she could barely make out the dwarf in front of her. She instinctively put her arm out behind her to make sure Zhen was still following as they continued their path.
